Notification of Non-Candidacy

The following incumbent office holder(s) has/have filed a Notice of Non-Candidacy for the Spring Election to be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2022:

Village Trustee            Derrick McGee

This information is being posted per Wis. Stat §§ 8.10(2)(am) and 120.06(6)(b)3m.

In jurisdictions where nomination papers are required, if an incumbent does not file either a notification of non-candidacy by December 24, 2021 or nomination papers and a Declaration of Candidacy by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, the filing deadline for that office is extended by 72 hours from the original deadline for all candidates except the incumbent. Wis. Stat. §§ 8.10(2)(a) and 120.06(6)(b)3.

Village of Wausaukee Receives $50,000 Hometown Grant Award from T-Mobile

The Village of Wausaukee has been selected as 1 of 25 recipients in the nation to receive a grant through the Hometown Grant Program from T-Mobile!  This $50,000 award will ensure that the Village can properly outfit our new library/community center with the furniture, fixtures, equipment and technology needed to best serve our area residents and guests.  We are incredibly thankful to T-Mobile for investing in our small community!

Annual Holiday Lights Competition Scheduled for Wednesday, December 15th!

The Annual Holiday Lights Competition will be held Wednesday, December 15th!  Anyone wishing to participate should have their holiday lights on from 6pm – 9pm for a chance at 1 of 6 cash prizes (residential only)!  Businesses are encouraged to participate as well with 1 grand prize winner awarded a traveling trophy to proudly display in 2022!

11th Annual Turkey Trot in Evergreen Park

The Wausaukee Recreation Association is hosting the 11th Annual Turkey Trot on Thursday, November 25th!  Registration begins at 8 am at the new Evergreen Park pavilion at 500 North Avenue, Wausaukee.  The cost for ages 9 & up is $20 with a shirt, or $10 without.  Children under 9 are $10 with a shirt, or free (no shirt) with the donation of a non-perishable food item.  Click here to download the registration form.

1% Increase in Sewer Usage and Base Rates – Effective 1/1/22

The Wausaukee Water/Sewer Utility is announcing a 1% increase in the SEWER RATES effective January 1, 2022. The increase is necessary to reduce the existing deficiency in present rates. The effect of the increase can be viewed by clicking on the attached link below.  This increase will affect all Residential, Commercial, Industrial and Public Authority customers of the Utility.

Fall Leaves & Brush Pick-up Week

Brush/leaves should be set out at the curb the week of October 18 – 22, 2021.

Village residents are requested to put all DRY LEAVES (only) in PLASTIC BAGS and put them by the curb. Brush will be picked up only if they are 4’ to 5’ in length and tied together.  Anything left loose at the curb will not be picked up.  Please keep leaves separate from brush.

No big tree branches or limbs please!

Public Hearing Notice – Ordinance Adoption Amending Zoning Code

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 5:00 PM at the Wausaukee Village Hall, 428 Harrison Avenue, Wausaukee, Wisconsin, the Village of Wausaukee Plan Commission will hold a public hearing on Ordinance amendments to the zoning code as follows:

  • Ordinance 2021-04: An Ordinance Amending Nonresidential Zoning Districts’ Permitted and Conditional Uses Regarding Solar Arrays
  • Ordinance 2021-05: An Ordinance Regarding Regulation of Solar Access and Solar Energy Systems
  • Ordinance 2021-06: An Ordinance Amending Residential Zoning Districts’ Permitted and Conditional Uses Regarding Solar Arrays
  • Ordinance 2021-07: An Ordinance on Standards for Portable Storage Units
  • Ordinance 2021-08: An Ordinance Establishing Standards for Sports Courts

The hearing is open to the public and all interested parties are encouraged to attend.
