1% Sewer Usage and Base Rate Increase – Effective 1/1/2021

The Wausaukee Water/Sewer Utility is announcing a 1% increase in the SEWER RATES effective January 1, 2021. The increase is necessary to reduce the existing deficiency in present rates. The effect of the increase can be viewed by clicking on the attached link below.  This increase will affect all Residential, Commercial, Industrial and Public Authority customers of the Utility.

Leaves and Brush Pick-up Week is October 19th – 23rd

Attention Village Residents!  Fall leaves/brush pick-up week is scheduled for October 19th – 23rd.

Brush/leaves should be set out at the curb.   Residents are requested to put all DRY LEAVES (only) in PLASTIC BAGS and brush must be in 4’ to 5’ lengths and tied together.  Anything left loose at the curb will not be picked up.  Please keep leaves separate from brush.

Joint Review Board Meeting Scheduled for September 28th

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Village of Wausaukee will hold a Joint Review Board (JRB) meeting on September 28, 2020 at 5:45 p.m. at the Wausaukee Village Hall, located at 428 Harrison Avenue.  The purpose of this meeting is for the JRB to consider approval of the resolution to be adopted by the Wausaukee Village Board on September 21st, 2020 for purposes of considering the proposed Project Plan for TID 1.  The meeting is open to the public.

Clerk’s Office Closed Until September 2nd

*Attention Village Residents*

The Clerk’s office will be closed until Wednesday, September 2nd.  Office staff will be available remotely during normal business hours via phone at 715-856-5341 or email at during this shut down.

The Village Hall will be open to the public for regularly scheduled meetings of the Village Board and Planning Commission on August 17th and August 24th.  Please note that masks are required to be worn while in the building.

Public Hearing Notice – Creation of TIF District #1

Public notice is hereby given that the Plan Commission of the Village of Wausaukee will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Wausaukee Village Hall, 428 Harrison Avenue, Wausaukee, WI.  The purpose of the public hearing is to consider a resolution to create Tax Incremental Finance (TIF) District No. 1 for the Village of Wausaukee.  TID No. 1 is being proposed as a “Mixed-Use” TIF District.  The Village of Wausaukee anticipates the implementation of proposed public improvements to promote economic development and redevelopment in the area. The proposed costs include projects within the proposed boundary and within a ½ mile radius of the proposed boundary of the District.  As part of the Project Plan, cash grants may be made by the Village to owners, lessees, or developers of property within TID No. 1 Project Plan to facilitate economic development within the TIF District.

Maps showing the boundaries of TID No. 1 and the associated Project Plan will be available upon request prior to the public hearing from the Village Clerk, 428 Harrison Avenue, Wausaukee, (715) 856-5341.  At the public hearing, interested parties will be given a reasonable opportunity to express their views on the proposed creation of TID No. 1.
