The Board of Review will meet on the 26th day of May 2022 at 4:00 pm at the Wausaukee Village Hall, 704 Main Street, Wausaukee, WI, for the purpose of calling the Board of Review into session during the 45 day period beginning on the 4th Monday of April, pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 70.47(1).
Due to the fact the assessment roll is not completed at this time, the Board of Review will be adjourned until the 15th day of June 2022 at 3:00 pm.
Pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 70.47(2): After the first meeting of the Board of Review and before the board’s final adjournment, no person who is scheduled to appear before the Board of Review may contact, or provide information to, a member of the board about that person’s objection except at a session of the board.
No person may appear before the Board of Review, testify to the board by telephone or contest the amount of any assessment unless, at least 48 hours before the first meeting of the board or at least 48 hours before the objection is heard if the objection is allowed under sub. (3)(a), that person provides to the clerk of the board of review notice as to whether the person will ask for removal under sub. (6m)(a) and if so which member will be removed and the person’s reasonable estimate of the length of time that the hearing will take.
When appearing before the board, the person shall specify, in writing, the person’s estimate of the value of the land and of the improvements that are the subject of the person’s objection and specify the information that the person used to arrive at that estimate.
No person may appear before the Board of Review, testify to the board by telephone or object to a valuation, if that valuation was made by the assessor or the objector using the income method, unless the person supplies to the assessor all of the information about income and expenses, as specified in the manual under Wis. Stat. § 73.03(2a), that the assessor requests. The municipality or county shall provide by ordinance for the confidentiality of information about income and expenses that is provided to the assessor under this paragraph and shall provide exceptions for persons using the information in the discharge of duties imposed by law or of the duties of their office or by order of a court. The information that is provided under this paragraph, unless a court determines that it is inaccurate, is not subject to the right of inspection and copying under Wis. Stat. § 19.35(1).
Pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 70.45, the assessment roll for the Year 2022 assessment will be open for examination starting on the 31st day of May 2022 at 10:00 am., until June 10th at 5:00 pm., Monday through Friday.
Additionally, the assessor shall be available on the 31st day of May2022 at the Wausaukee Village Hall from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Instructional material will be provided at the Open Book to persons who wish to object to valuations under Wis. Stat. § 70.47.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 5:00 PM at the Wausaukee Village Hall, 704 Main Street, Wausaukee, Wisconsin, the Village of Wausaukee Plan Commission will hold a public hearing on an Ordinance amendment to the zoning code as follows:
- Ordinance 2022-02: An Ordinance Amending the WHP Wellhead Protection Overlay Zoning District
The hearing is open to the public and all interested parties are encouraged to attend. Interested parties may request copies of the proposed Ordinance, and any additional information by contacting Sara Pullen, Administrator/Clerk/Treasurer, via phone at 715-856-5341 or via email at email@example.com. Written comments on the proposed ordinances may also be submitted to the Village of Wausaukee at 704 Main Street, PO Box 475, Wausaukee, WI 54177.
On Saturday, May 21, 2022, the Village of Wausaukee will provide dumpsters for the disposal of items not otherwise accepted during normal garbage pick-up and/or recycling. For those who are elderly or disabled, please call the Village office in advance at 715-856-5341, and Village staff will make arrangements to have your items picked up. All other able bodied Village residents can use the dumpster behind the Public Works building (former Village Hall). Anyone willing to volunteer is encouraged to meet by the Public Works building at 428 Harrison Ave at 8:00 am.
Additionally, leaves and brush will be picked up the week of May 16-20, 2022 from 8 am – 12 pm, weather permitting. Village residents are requested to put all dry leaves (only) in plastic bags or boxes and put them by the curb. Brush must be 4’ to 5’ in length and bundled. Anything left loose at the curb will not be picked up.
At a regular meeting of the Village Board on April 18, 2022, President Pat Tracy recognized the week of May 1th – May 7th as Professional Clerks Week. He extended his appreciation to Sara Pullen, Clerk, and Emily Tadisch, Deputy Clerk, for their exemplary dedication to the community.
The Wausaukee Municipal Center, 704 Main Street, will open its doors to those affected by the area wide power outages from 4 pm until 10 pm on Thursday, March 24th, and 8 am until 5 pm on Friday, March 25th. We will closely monitor the situation as updated by WPS and add days/times if necessary.
Guests are invited to use Program Room A in the new Community Center to warm up, use the restrooms, fill water bottles, charge devices, and use the wi-fi. We also will be opening the kitchen to those wishing to cook a hot meal, utilize the refrigerator or freezer, microwave, or coffee pot. Please be advised that we do not have dishes, pots, or pans yet, so guests will need to bring their own.
Please use the rear parking lot and entrance in the alley off Harrison Avenue.

Notice is hereby given that any qualified elector of the Village of Wausaukee who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may request to vote an absentee ballot in the Clerk’s office at 704 Main Street. The first day to vote absentee is Tuesday, March 22nd and the last day is Friday, April 1st. Absentee voting may occur between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm.
