Notice of Spring Election – April 2, 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that at an election to be held in the Village of Wausaukee, on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, the following offices are to be elected to succeed the present incumbents listed. The term for Village Trustee begins on April 16, 2024. All terms are for two years, unless otherwise indicated.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that the first day to circulate nomination papers is December 1, 2023, and the final day for filing nomination papers is 5:00 p.m., on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, in the office of the Village Clerk.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that if a primary is necessary, the primary will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

Acceptable Photo ID will be required to vote at this election. If you do not have a photo ID you may obtain a free ID for voting from the Division of Motor Vehicles.

RFP for Comp Plan and Housing Study

Public Hearing Regarding Proposed CDBG Planning Grant Application

The Village of Wausaukee will conduct a public hearing on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 5:00 pm regarding its proposed application for grant funds from the Community Development Block Grant – Planning Grant Program (CDBG-PLNG).  The public is invited to attend to learn about the CDBG program, to help identify additional community development needs, and to comment on the activities proposed to be included in the CDBG application.  Click here to view the agenda.

Notice of Hydrant Flushing Sept. 14 – Oct. 11, 2023

The Village of Wausaukee will be flushing and winterizing fire hydrants and exercising valves starting September 14, 2023 and will continue until October 11, 2023.  Flushing will be done from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm Monday – Friday.  There may be discoloration in the water during this time.  If you see our personnel working in your area, use as little, or if possible, no water for an hour to insure that the water has settled down and that the discoloration is not drawn into your water system.  Residents may call Public Works Director, Dennis Whitton, at 715-927-1006 with any questions.

Village Board Vacancy

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village of Wausaukee is seeking to fill the unexpired term of Trustee James Feldmann which expires in April of 2024.  The appointee may choose to run for election to a regular 2-year term at the end of their appointed term.

Interested village residents, who are at least 18 years of age, should submit a letter of interest summarizing training, accomplishments, and any other information that may be pertinent to their effective performance on the Village Board to the Village Clerk.  Interested persons should plan to attend the Village Board meeting to discuss their interest in and qualifications for the position on Monday, September 18, 2023, at which time the Village Board will consider applications and make the appointment.
