The Citizen Participation Committee of the Village of Wausaukee will conduct a public hearing regarding its proposed application for Community Development Block Grant – Public Facilities Program (CDBG-PF) funds. The public is invited to attend to learn about the CDBG program, to help identify additional community development needs, and to comment on the activities proposed to be included in the CDBG application. Spring Clean-up Day will be held Saturday, May 19th from 8am to 12pm for items not otherwise accepted during normal garbage pick-up (charges may apply). Residents who are elderly or disabled may contact the Village to make arrangements to have items picked up. Click here for more details.
The Village Board at their regular Board meeting on March 21st, 2018 approved an amendment to Village ordinance 2018-07. Please click the links below to view the ordinances in their entirety.
At a Regular Village Board meeting on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, Board members voted in favor of Charter Ordinance 2018-08 increasing the number of Trustees serving on the Board from 5 members to 7 members. This reverses a previous decision (made on November 1, 2017) to decrease the size of the Board from 7 members to 5 members. Because Charter Ordinances do not take effect until 60 days after passage, one Trustee seat will be eliminated after the April 3rd Spring Election. The seat will be filled by appointment for a 2-year term on or after May 21, 2018.
The Village of Wausaukee wishes to improve the user experience at Evergreen Campground and we want your input! Currently, the Village is contemplating upgrades to include:
- a new bathroom/shower facility
- water and sewer hook-ups at the campsites
- trail markers and signage for the walking trails
- warming shelter/trail head for snowshoeing and cross country skiing

At a Special Board meeting on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, the Board voted in favor of Village Ordinance 2017-07 reducing the number of members on the Planning Commission (WPC) from 7 members to 5 members. The transition to a 5 man Board will be in conjunction with the transition of the Village Board [to a 5 member Board] with one seat being eliminated after the next two successive spring elections.
At a Special Village Board meeting on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, Board members voted in favor of Charter Ordinance 2017-06 reducing the number of Trustees serving on the Board from 7 members to 5 members. The change will take place over the next two spring elections with 2 seats (instead of 3) up for election in April 2018 and 2 seats (instead of 3) in 2019. The Board will be ‘unbalanced’ in 2018 as the transition takes place.
