Things to Know. . . . . .

The Village of Wausaukee Board meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month at the Village Hall October through April, and the third Monday of the month May through September at 428 Harrison Ave. Meetings start at 6:00 p.m. unless noticed otherwise. Notices are posted at the Village Hall, Bank North, Wausaukee Post Office, & Sal’s Food Center.

All elections are held at the Village Hall. Polls are open 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Building Permits are required for all work to be done on existing buildings and all new construction call (715) 856-5341. Any land split (creation of a new parcel) or subdivision must have an approved Certified Survey Map (CSM) before the division takes place. All CSM’s should be sent to the Village Clerk along with the $20 review fee.

Water & Sewer rates are posted at the Village Hall. Billing is done quarterly (3/31, 6/30, 9/30, 12/31) and can be paid within 30 days at the Village Hall, Bank North, State Bank of Florence, or sent to the Village of Wausaukee, P.O. Box 475.

Garbage and Recycling is collected on Mondays (unless Monday is a legal holiday, then garbage collection will be on Tuesday). Put garbage out by 6:30 a.m. Garbage must be bagged and weigh less than 50 lbs. Recycling must be placed in a separate container. The driver will not pick up garbage or recycling if he feels threatened by any dogs or if garbage has been torn apart. Building (construction) supplies or scraps will not be picked up. Waste Management can be contacted for a recycling container. Their number is 800-621-8884. Recyclable items need to be put out by the curb by your regular garbage.

First half or full payments of Real Estate taxes are due by Jan. 31. FULL payments of Personal Property taxes are due by Jan. 31. Taxes are to be paid at or mailed to the Marinette County Treasurer, 1926 Hall Ave., Marinette, WI 54143. Make checks payable to Marinette County Treasurer. PLEASE INCLUDE A SELF-ADDRESSED, STAMPED ENVELOPE FOR A RECEIPT. The second half of balance is due on July 31 and also must go to the Marinette County Treasurer. THE VILLAGE TREASURER WILL NOT ACCEPT TAX PAYMENTS!

Contact Clerk Sara Pullen at 428 Harrison Ave, WI 54177 for dog licenses. A Certificate of Rabies Vaccination by a licensed veterinarian is needed to obtain a license. License will not be issued without a rabies certification.
